빌라는 약 21.34m × 약 21.34m × 약 10.67m의 절반 입방체이다.[52] 존 허비는 이 집을 "살기에는 너무 작고, 시계를 걸기에는 너무 크다"라고 묘사했다.[53] 존 클레크 오브 페니쿠이크는 "편리하기보다는 특이하다"라고 묘사했고, 호레이스 월폴은 "아름다운 모델"이라고 불렀다.[53][54]

4. 정원

치즈윅 하우스의 정원은 고대 로마의 정원을 재현하려는 시도였다. 티볼리에 있는 황제 하드리아누스의 빌라 아드리아나에서 영감을 받았다.[128] 1720년대부터 버링턴과 윌리엄 켄트는 해자(Ha-ha),[129] 고전 정원 건물, 조각상, 숲, 가짜 이집트 조형물, 볼링장, 구불구불한 산책로, 폭포 및 물을 활용한 새로운 디자인을 실험했다. 윌리엄 켄트가 설계한 '익세드라'는 원래 세 명의 알려지지 않은 로마 신의 고대 조각상을 전시했다. 집 뒤편의 잔디밭은 1745년에 조성되었으며 윌리엄 켄트가 디자인한 석재 장례용 항아리와 번갈아 레바논시다 나무를 심었다. 항아리와 레바논시다 사이에는 떠오르는 해를 바라보도록 세 개의 스핑크스가 배치되었다.

호수는 1727년경 볼로 브룩을 넓혀 만들었다. 남은 흙은 윌리엄 켄트의 폭포 뒤에 쌓아 정원을 감상하고 인근 템스강을 조망할 수 있는 높은 통로를 만들었다. 1621년 이니고 존스가 첼시 뷰포트 하우스(한스 슬론 경의 집)에서 설계한 관문은 버링턴 경이 사들여 1738년 치즈윅 정원으로 옮겨 재건했다.[57] 오렌지 나무 정원 너머의 클래식 브릿지는 조지아나 스펜서를 위해 제임스 와이어트가 디자인하여 1774년에 지어졌다.[53]
